The village of Dobříň is located about 5 km from the town of Roudnice nad Labem. The first written mention of the village dates back to the end of the 13th century. Nowadays there are about 550 inhabitants in Dobříň. Directly in Dobřín you can visit the birthplace of the poet Josef Hora, where today there is a museum with a small exposition about the poet's life. Not far from the village there is a natural monument Dobříňský háj, which consists of a floodplain forest of the Elbe River floodplain. This protected area is home to the rare snowdrop and a number of protected insect species. Another tourist attraction of Dobříň is the so-called Dobříňská sandpit. The flooded quarry serves as a natural swimming pool.
