Roudnice nad Labem

The town of Roudnice nad Labem is situated on the left bank of the Elbe River in the fertile Polabská lowland. The first mentions date back to the second half of the 12th century. More than 13 thousand inhabitants live here. The history of the town is very rich, there are documented prehistoric traces of settlement at the ford over the Elbe River. It is one of the oldest Czech towns. It is worth visiting the dominant feature of Roudnice, the accessible Lobkowicz castle and Romanesque castle, the Hláska lookout tower, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and the Augustinian monastery, the Chapel of St. Joseph, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Podřipské Museum and others.
