Děčín Castle is a majestic guardian of the Elbe Valley and a romantic mansion surrounded by gardens and a park. Over the centuries, it has attracted many famous personalities, from European monarchs to artists. Today, visitors can stroll through the former owner's suite, the children's rooms or the representative salons with their beautiful views. Not only architecture lovers will also appreciate the beauty of the Baroque stables, the castle gardens including the Rose Garden and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In the adjacent chateau park you will find an interesting technical monument - the only chain bridge in the Czech Republic, preserved on its original place. Děčín Castle is also one of the main landmarks of the city, as it rises on a rock promontory at an impressive height of 51 metres above the confluence of the Elbe and Ploučnice rivers.
