The Elbe Canyon is a valley of the Elbe River located near the town of Decin. It is the deepest sandstone canyon in Europe. Its depth is an impressive 300 m and is a popular destination for climbers from all over the world. Its monumental beauty can be admired from the river surface while riding a boat, raft or paddleboard, from the saddle of a bicycle (the Elbe Trail runs through the canyon), or from many viewpoints. The most beautiful one is undoubtedly Belvedér u Labská stráně, which is the oldest modified viewpoint in Bohemian Switzerland and offers a beautiful view into the depths of the canyon, the opposite rocks, the German table mountains Zirkelstein and Kaiserkrone. The Elbe Canyon and its surrounding area can be explored more closely thanks to the Elbe Canyon Nature Trail, which starts at Stoličná hora in Děčín and ends at the Belveder viewpoint.
