The Vrabinec Castle was built on a steep jagged rock near the village of Babětín (village Těchlovice). The rugged and not very good-looking building probably gave the castle its name after the sparrow's nest. Historically, the castle is documented in 1404. However, it is already mentioned as deserted in 1515. Vrabinec Castle is the dominant feature of the eponymous reserve, which covers an area of 8.77 ha at an altitude of 198 to 350 m. The reason for the nature protection is the fact that it is an island of warm-loving flora in an otherwise cooler and wetter part of the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. It is located above the slopes of the Babětínský valley, which has been protected by the state since 1993. The protected area is attractive due to the romantic disjointedness of the geomorphological formation and the attractive view from the top rocks.
