Calvary – Three Crosses

1557

Kalvárie (239 m above sea level) is part of the Porta Bohemica massif on the right bank of the Elbe River, with three crosses on its summit. Thanks to the erosive activity of the Elbe, Paleozoic rocks are exposed here, which is unique in the České středohoří Mountains. The most significant parts of the Kalvárie Nature Reserve are the steep rocky slopes with xerophilous rock steppe communities. Here you can find the endangered green lizard and the Czech crocus, which blooms in early spring.
