You’ll start your relaxing trip along the Elbe Cycle Route in Litoměřice. After a few kilometers on Bike Route No. 2—the Elbe Cycle Route—you’ll reach Píšťany, where you can take a dip in Lake Píšťany or grab a bite to eat at the restaurant in the local marina. You can then take the ferry from Píšťany to Lovosice, where you can visit the U Zámečku Lookout right by the Elbe River. An alternative route of the Elbe Cycle Route 2A will then take you downstream along the Elbe River to another ferry in Malé Žernoseky, from where you can continue along Cycle Route No. 25 through Malé Žernoseky to the picturesque Oparenské Valley. The route winds through beautiful countryside along the Milešovský Stream, and you can stop for refreshments at the Černodolský Mill. Then continue along the same route back to the ferry in Malé Žernoseky. The ferryman will take you back to the main route of the Elbe Cycle Route to Velké Žernoseky, offering a unique view of the Žernoseky vineyards. There, you can take a short detour into the village and purchase some “liquid souvenirs” in the form of Žernoseky wines. There are several wineries in Velké Žernoseky (e.g., Žernosecké vinařství s.r.o., Víno Hrabkovský, the Mikulenkovi Family Winery, or Vinařství Porta Bohemica). From Velké Žernoseky, you’ll then ride upstream along the river back to Litoměřice. Wrap up your relaxing trip at a cozy café called Káva s párou, located just a few meters from the Elbe Cycle Route. If you’ve fallen in love with the area around Lake Píšťany, you can even stay overnight here. Accommodations can be arranged at the Marina in Píšťany or at the adjacent campground.
