Explore the Czech-Saxon border region by bike and enjoy the beautiful route through the Elbe Canyon. Start your trip in Ústí nad Labem (or in Děčín), where you’ll board the bike bus in the morning and let it take you to the village of Tisá. From there, continue by bike along the rock formations at the foot of Děčínský Sněžník. Here, a hike up the highest table mountain in the Czech Republic awaits you. The beautiful views are definitely worth the effort. From Sněžník, ride to the German village of Rosenthal and through other small villages and lovely countryside all the way to Königstein, which boasts an extensive and unique fortress that’s certainly worth a visit. But before that, you can stop at the lovely Spanghornaussicht viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view of the fortress. In Königstein, you’ll join the German section of the Elbe Cycle Route, known as the Elberadweg, and from there, just follow the Elbe River. After 25 km, you’ll return to the Czech Republic. You’ll ride through the beautiful Elbe Canyon via Dolní Žleb to Děčín. Here, we recommend stopping during the summer months to take a dip at the Aquapark, which is located almost right next to the Elbe Cycle Route. From Děčín, it’s only about 25 km through the landscape of the České středohoří Mountains, with Buková hora in the background, via Velké Březno—which has a lovely castle—back to Ústí nad Labem.

Alternatively, you can start the trip from Děčín, where the Ústí Region Transport Authority operates bike bus routes on select days during the tourist season.

The bike buses are available only during the season from April through the end of October.
